Kofi Annan Dies at 80

Kofi Annan of Ghana is dead. The top diplomat, who was the first black African to occupy the Secretary-General of the United Nations ( he did for a decade from1997 - 2006).
He rose through the ranks of the international organization to head its top administrative unit. He was also a nobel price winner for his efforts towards world's peace in 2001.

Mr. Kofi Annan died after a brief illness as revealed by a terse statement released by his family. He died in Bern, Switzerland on 18/08/2018 at 80 years and was born in 1938.
