About 19 persons dead in Tokyo disabled facility massacre

A knife wielding man went on rampage in facility for disabled persons located at Sagamihara, just outskirts of Tokyo resulting in the death of at least 19 persons while about 20 persons are left with various degrees of injury. The name of the facility has been revealed as the Tsukui Yamayuri Garden Facility.

According to Tokyo local news agencies, a member of staff of the facility placed an emergency call to the police at about 2.30am Tokyo time with reports of an armed man presumed to be in his 20s who had attacked some personnel of the facility as well as its patients and visitors with a knife.

The suspect however voluntarily turned himself in at a local police station after the police responded to the emergency call. 

The motive behind the attack is yet unknown but there are speculations that the attacker was a dismayed employee of the facility.
