Policeman proposes to his gay partner at London Gay Pride

A police officer was caught on camera proposing to his partner while on his knees in front of thousands of celebrants at the London Gay Pride event.

The officer who apparently was on duty at the event did not wait for the events of the day to go by before going on bend knees to seek the hands of his partner in marriage. To the cheers of onlookers, who were mostly of the LGBT community, the proposal was greeted with a "yes" response from the boyfriend.

The incident occurred outside Hamleys in Regent Street.

After the acceptance by the boyfriend, the duo kissed passionately before the police officer joined the rest of the police officers who were also on duty and marched away in the parade.

Apparently, this was not the only proposal of the day by gay couples at the Gay Pride Parade. The Parade which commenced at West End, passed through the famous streets of Regent Street (the scene of the incident), Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus before terminating at Whitehall, also had another proposal. In the second proposal were two policemen.

The event was however under heavy police presence, apparently to wade off any violent attacks on the LGBT community after the Orlando Gay Club Shooting incident in Florida.
