Kendrick Lamar and Drake lead the 2018 Grammy Awards nominations, Xxxtentacion and 6IX9INE Tekashi not on Grammy list

American rapper, Kendrick Lamar and Canadian rapper, Drake, lead the nominations for the 61st Grammy Awards announced today with eight nominations  including 'album of the Year' for his work on 'Black Panther' soundtrack, Song of the year and Record of the Year for his song with SZA, “All the Stars.”

Kendrick is followed by Drake who has seven nominations.

Other making up the list with more than one nomination include:
 Cardi B, H.E.R and Childish Gambino with 5 nominations:
Post Malone and Lady Gaga with 4 nominations;
Shawn Mendes, SZA, Zedd & Maren, Travis Scott, Jay Rock and Brandie Carlile with 3 nominations; 
Janelle Monáe, Christina Aguilera, Camila Cabello, Miguel  and Ella Mai with 2 nominations.

Surprisingly, Xxxtentancion is nominated in any category despite the success of his second album, "X".

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on February 10, 2019, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
