Heartwarming pictures of world leaders who still act like everyday citizens

Real leaders stay with their led
Leaders are meant to be close to their led. Thus, they should be seen mingling with the population because they were once led before they became leaders. Also, only by being led can someone translate to a leader.

It is therefore heartwarming when a leader shows that he or she is still part of the society, but more heartwarming when this done with a pure intention other than to curry favour from members of the society.

Below are some of the fascinating moments caught on camera.

The youthful Prime Minister of Canada is one who so much mixes with his people without the paraphernalia of power. This picture courtesy of CTV News shows the head of the Canadian government taking an early morning jog with his honoured guest, the President of Mexico, two days before he hosted the Presidents and leaders of the North American countries in Ottawa.

Boris Johnson is one leader who goes to work "aboard" his bicycle, even as Mayor of London. The BREXIT strong campaigner is an ardent lover of cycling, and was responsible for the institution of London-city-wide cycling hire scheme and opened the first cycling superhighway in London. In July 2015, the former Mayor risked being fined after he was seen giving his wife a lift on his bicycle contrary to the provisions of UK Road and Traffic Act.

During one of Obama's visits to the United Kingdom, precisely on his visit to the Windsor Castle in April 21 2015, the Prince of Edinburgh and the Queen of England's spouse was the chauffeur that drove the President of the United States and his wife to the castle from the yard of the Castle.

When Marine One landed at the yard, about 500 yards from the Castle, Prince Phillip, then 94, and Queen Elizabeth II was on duty to usher and drive the US First Couple to their destination for a dinner. The Windsor Castle is however a special place for Prince Phillip because the Castle was his mother's (Prince Alice of Battenberg) birth place.

Obama helping Michelle with the umbrella

The President of United States was on husband duty as he sheltered his wife, Michelle Obama from downpour. This was during his visit to Cuba, the first of a President of United States since 1928 when Calvin Coolidge visited the Island in a battleship. Obama can be seen steadying the umbrella so as to ensure that his wife was not drenched by the rain, he in fact cared less about himself.

This was not the only time Obama would be seen on a husband call. During the US first family's visit to the Kensington Palace, London in April where they dined with Prince Williams and Harry, the President of United States catered for his wife by shielding her from the rain.
