WBO Welter Weight Champion, Manny Pacquiao Elected Into The Phillipines Senate

Famous Boxer and World Welter Weight Champion, Manny Pacquiao has been elected into the Philippines Senate. Pacquiao, 37, who last year, had a heavily publicized match bout with American boxer, Floyd Mayweather retired soon from boxing to join politics won in a landslide, and was declared among the 12 latest members of the Upper Chamber Of Congress by the Philippine's Election Commission.


Voters last week cast their ballots in choosing a President, Vice president, 18,000 local officials, 200 members of the Lower Chamber Of Congress and 12 senators.

"I can focus and discipline myself, the way I did in boxing to help the Nation", Pacquiao said.
Manny Pacquiao who has served twice as a congressman had told the media that he favors restoring the death penalty for serious crimes and drug related offences.
