UNIZIK Lecturer, Lizzy Ama-Oji, and Nigerian Law School Lecturer, Nelson Ogbuanya, Among Newly Appointed Judges of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria

Nigeria's acting president, Prof Yemi Osibajo Tuesday approved the appointment of 19 new judges to the National Industrial Court's bench; this was based on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council and pursuant to the provisions of the extant Constitution of Nigeria and the NICN Act.

According to the statement released by the NJC Director of Information, the new judges include Dr. Lizzy Ama-Oji an eminent lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Mr. Nelson S.C Ogbuanya of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus.

Dr. Lizzy is renowned in both labour law, Nigerian and international, and international law. She is widely written and referred, and had participated in national and international conference, including some at the United Nations. Mr. Ogbuanya, on the other hand, teaches corporate law at the Nigerian Law School, but has a master of laws degree in labour relations from the University of Lagos. He was once the Secretary General of the NBA, Ikeja Chapter. They will be sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mr. Walter Onnoghen on July 14.

To be sworn in also as judges of the Court includeTargema John Lorngee, Namtari Mahmood Abba, Nweneka Gerald Ikechi, Kado Sanusi, Adeniyi Sinmisola Oluyinka, Abiola Adunola Adewemimo, Opeloye Ogunbowale A, Essien Isaac Jeremiah, Arowosegbe Olukayode Ojo, Bashir Zaynab Mohammed, Galadima Ibrahim Suleiman, Bassi Paul Ahmed, Danjidda Salisu Hamisu, Hamman Idi Polycarp, Damulak Kiyersohot Dashe, Alkali Bashar Attahiru and Mustapha Tijjani.
