Chinese Man Gao Fengshou Faced with the Dilemma of Saving either His Mother or Wife

We may imagine being placed in a difficult situation of choosing whom to save among our loved ones in a life's hard choice situation. "To be or not to be" like Hamlet soliloquized. A Chinese experienced the call first hand: "to save his mother or to save his wife ".

Goa Fengshou
The difficult call to choose was made when Goa Fengshou was trapped by the devastating flood that swept through China, destroying homes and leaving nearly 200 persons feared dead.

In a small village known as Daxian Village in the Xintai City of Hebei Province, China lived Gao who was sleeping when the torrential rain began although he was among the numerous Chinese forewarned of the storm. He rather slept through the beginning of the storm, waking up to the devastating reality of a flooded home. Rather than saving his wife, children and a sick aged father, Goa Fengshou instead ran to the other side of the town to save his dear mother whose house was almost submerged by the storm.
His damaged house
Although he was able to rescue his mother, he could not return to his house to complete the rescue of his entire family members because the flood had already leveled close to his chest region. Thus he tarried for a while hoping that the flood would recess. After hours of waiting he finally got to his house only to find that his wife Zhang Xiaoyan, children and aged dad were huddled on the roof of the house, and thankfully, alive.

But the sad part is that his wife has deserted him for not saving them first before going to save his mother. He is currently pleading with her to understand the tough call he was made to make.
