Meet A young, enterprising student, Olaniyi Destiny Olumeko, Who's Touching lives through his barbing outreach.
Olaniyi Destiny Olumeko, a graduate of Mass communication from Kaduna Polytechnic, is the CEO of Xponent Barberz and is into barbing (both home and outdoors services), training of interested individuals (empowerment), sales of barbering instruments and so on.

Olaniyi, who is presently a 300 level student of Criminology and Security Studies at National Open University Nigeria in Abuja, said his office is located at 6911 Road, Judges Quarters, Abuja Model City, Gwarimpa, Abuja. He said his business is all about making people look good and training others who are interested in the act of barbering.
Speaking with Greennews.ng, he said certain circumstances led him into barbing business. He said “I never envisaged being a barber, but I am that kind of person who derives pleasure from whatever I set my mind to do.I learnt it from a friend and today I have got no regret whatsoever.”
Olaniyi, who got into the business 12 years ago, said he started the business for fun at first and he did that for 3 years before he started doing it professionally 9 years ago. He said he charges as little as N500 for Adult, N300- N400 for children, hairdye 600, Home service from N3000 depending on location.
He further explained that he trains people and that his charges are according to the package the apprentice wants. He has Basic class which for 6 weeks goes at the rate of N10,000, diploma class for 12 weeks at the rate of N18,000 and so on.
Speaking on how he has impacted others through his business, he said, “I have taught many youths the art of barbering, some are shop owners today while some are still in school and using it to fend for themselves. I do barbing outreach where I go with my team of barbers to villages, orphanages, etc to cut people’s hair and also train them for free and so on.”
Olaniyi, who has been privileged to have worked on judges, magistrates, civil servants, artistes and many more, advises others who want to venture into barbing to, first and foremost, be patient to learn the rudiments of the profession, be dedicated, honest and consistent and be ready to move with time and surely, they will get there.
On his achievements, Olaniyi told Greennews.ng that he has been paying all his bills as a man for the past 12 years, although he is still schooling. He is also self-employed and has empowered countless numbers of youths. He said his achievements are countless,and more are still coming by God’s grace.
Olaniyi stated that his unique selling point in his business is customer-friendliness, neatness and dedication to giving good haircuts with affordable prices, which make people to patronize them again.
