The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is not ending the record breaking streak as he netted his 55th goal for his country, Argentina. The record was previously held by the prolific Argentinian striker, Gabriel Batistuta who had a record of 54 goals in 74 appearances for the Argentinian Senior National team.

He is however yet to win any trophy for the senior national team of Argentina to the chagrin of Argentinian soccer lovers who have accused him of being more dedicated to his club side, Barcelona, than his country. Hopefully, he may win the Copa America this time.
