Legendary Boxer, Muhammad Ali, on Life Support as Family Members Warn that His Demise may be Nigh

Legendary Boxer, Muhammad Ali
Following the deterioration of his health condition after he was Thursday rushed to a Phoenix-area hospital by members of his immediate family, we have obtained reports that the legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali, is currently on life support. Further to this development, there are also speculations coming from a family source that there is a likelihood that the legendary boxer's death may be nigh. According to the revelation made to Radar Online, the retired boxer is "barely breathing". And doctors have warned the family "that it likely won't be long until he passes away", an insider confides.

Muhammad Ali, who won his first major boxing title in February 25, 1964 against then reigning heavyweight champion Sonny Liston, was hospitalized due to deteriorating respiratory condition, in what meant to be a "brief" stay. But the recent events showed that the stay may not be that "brief" after all.

Not just are the emotions pouring out in Twitter, but in all social media grape-vine. One Facebook user, an ardent fan of Muhammad Ali, described him as being "so great [that] he made medicine sick, with the hashtag #ComeonAli.

This is not the first time Muhammad Ali is hospitalized. He was first diagnosed of Parkinson's syndrome in 1984, after his retirement. The diagnosis did not come as a surprise because it is believed that the disease commonly results from head trauma which is typical of the activities such as boxing. In recent years, he had spent some days in the hospital. In 2014 and 2015 he was hospitalized for days and treated of urinary tract infection thought initially to be pneumonia.

While Muhammad Ali, 75, continues to battle the latest illness amid support and prayers from the public, the family have expressed their gratitude for the concerns and prayers of the public. A source to one of his daughters, Laila, told correspondents that the family appreciate "the outpouring of love" for the family.
